What did you do this past week?

This past week I finished up the Voting project. I mostly just had finishing touches to do with setting up the repo and creating tests.

What’s in your way?

The biggest thing in my way going forward is that I have a lot of things due and a limited amount of time. I hope I will be able to meet all of my deadlines, but it’s going to be a busy couple of days.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will work on all of the assignments I have due, like a seven-page paper and a web development project I am working on outside of school.

If you read it, what did you think of the Open-Closed Principle?

I thought it was a very engaging read. It seems like the concepts are very useful, but they do require forethought in order to implement them correctly. It is another reason that you should always go into a project with a plan and a clear vision of how things should go.

What was your experience of arrays, iterators, and algorithms? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have encountered all of them before. I found the different types of arrays in C++ interesting, and I think it will take some practice to use the right ones at the right times. I had never heard of the different types of iterators before, but it definitely seems important to keep them in mind and use the right one for the job.

What made you happy this week?

My friend visited and we celebrated my 21st birthday over the weekend. We had a great time. I would recommend the restaurant Midori if you’re a fan of sushi.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I will endorse the editor VSCode. I feel that is very flexible, and you can add extensions to suit your needs.
